Review: Good Omens

Good Omens
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a great read! This is probably one of the funniest book I've read (but I guess everyone who's read it would say the same)...
I just picked it up in a bookshop (first) because I wanted to try reading something from Neil Gaiman, and (second) the synopsis at the back reminded me of the sort of books I liked and missed - something of adventure and fantasy. And fantastically funny. The foreword alone got me giggling.

The bits I loved the most are the ones involving the supernatural beings, i.e. Crowley the demon, Aziraphale the angel, and the four hell's angels. The supernatural stuff kept me reading and laughing (inwardly) throughout the book. I quite liked the ones which includes Anathema Device and Newton Pulsifer together as well. How they linked the prophecies to what was happening got me thinking too. The bits I'm not in love with are the ones involving 'Them', the group of four kids revolving around the antichrist. I kept wanting to skip those paragraphs, for some reason. Probably because I don't have much tolerance with 11 years old kids and their talks. Overall, wish there was more paragraphs on the supernaturals than the kids, but still loved it anyhow.
